· The 1st picture show a building which is combine the Malaysia design culture and mix with the Greek columns, the Ionic & Doric, although it gave people an antiquated feel but I think that the kitsch is exist here. The columns doesn’t really have a function as a supportive pillar yet it just a decorative element only.
· The 2nd picture is the KLIA mosque, the time I look to it I think about the Pantheon dome in Roman culture. Both buildings also a religious place. The Pantheon in Roman had implement the arch and improved it to support the dome, it show an innovation and intelligent use based on the architectural knowledge of the Romans; compare to the KLIA mosque, I do not think that it serve the same meaning here but this semi-sphere has already a symbol to represent a mosque.
· The 3rd picture is the Finance Ministry Building in Putrajaya, they using the Greek arch to show support if the main door lack to support stand it. Although the Financial Ministry building’s arch got nothing function related to the ancient 1, but then I found an interesting fact: “The design of its doorway is the same as the courts. From the court's entrance to the doorway, there is no obstacle. And, it shows that everyone is treated the same and no one is above the law.” Master Wong
· In the 4th picture, the KLCC structure shown a similarity with the step pyramid in Egypt, the pyramids symbolized the power of the Pharaoh and the also religious concept related to the god Ra, so i assumed the KLCC contain the religious element inside also
· For the 5th picture shown the Kuching post office having the Greek Corinthian column which in the past they are used as to commemorate success in military campaigns, in reflect to the present time, maybe they wanted to show the respect to the government since the post-office is a government service.
